I was born on July 9th,1982 in Denver Colorado.. My family lived in a small town called Frisco, and my mom started a dance studio in the town mall. My Mom told me, that when I was a baby, if music was playing, I would not stop dancing till it stopped. So I guess dancing was in my blood. I started dancing at the age of 3, and my mom was my first dance teacher. I started in ballet, jazz, and tap. My family moved to Utah when I was 5 and I went right back to dancing. I was not introduced to ballroom until I was 12 , and after seeing my first Latin ballroom competition, I knew that was something I would love to do. I danced all the time and so between my school studies and dance my high school life was not a very social one. In fact most of High School I attended classes till noon, then I'd head straight to the dance studio and train in ballroom for 2 hours, with the rest of the day spent working in other dance forms. I still train in jazz, tap, ballroom, and lyrical, which is my favorite. I started teaching dance when I was 16. I especially love teaching kids.
Alongside the Gospel of Jesus Christ my Family is the most important focus in my life and they mean so much to me. I have 2 kids now, both boys and they are beautiful and the sweetest boys I have ever met. I love my children and my husband, they are the greatest blessing and I love being with my family.
I come from a family of 8 kids. I have 2 older brothers, 1 older sister, and 4 younger sisters. They are all my best friends. My parents are the hardest working team. My Dad is so amazing. He has always been my biggest fan, and the best dad in the world. He doesn’t dance, but he sure can play the air guitar better than anyone I know, and the best Papa John to my kids and all my nieces and nephews. My mom is the hardest working woman I know. She has eight kids, and runs one of the top studios in the US, Center Stage in Orem Utah. She is the best dance teacher for children in the world. She truly is superwoman.
Some of my favorite things to do other than dancing are learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ, experiencing the outdoors, finding out new talents, and spending time with my friends. My husband and I are vegetarians and we love health and nutrition and staying fit. I am in the beginning processes of writing a book and I have a new jewelry line.
Life seems to get more and more exciting every year and I can’t wait to find out what the future holds.
